I took this photo in a last minute dash, all day the heavens had opened and it was damp and wet out, a typical Irish winters day. For some reason leading up to sunset I had an inkling things might change. As the last light of the day faded away, out of nowhere the skies erupted with a burst of colour.
WANDERLUST
The Tangalle Province of Sri Lanka is the one of the wildest, remote coats I've ever had the pleasure of visiting, you can wonder for miles and miles without stumbling across a sole, infact you have more chance of bumping into a giant tortoise. There is something so refreshing about visiting a place so devoid of the usual touristic masses, I just wonder how long that will last.

PERSPECTIVE
Sri Lanka, the extremes of poverty in Sri Lanka are everywhere to be seen, life is lived by the most basic means possible, but despite the hardships, people are welcoming and for the most part live life with a smile.
STILT FISHERMAN
Migigama Sri Lanka, it years before the devastating Tsunami the stilt fishing was the way of life, a means of survival, a cultural identity, sadly after the Tsunami many of the local fisherman moved in land, too afraid to fish along the fish. Nowadays many of the stilt fisherman or merely actors, pretending to fish, hoping they can charge people for taking photos... there aggressive nature is both unwelcome and sad and ultimately disappointing. One day I hope there will be a return to stilt fishing by the locals.
